Who are Al-Hijaab?
Al-Hijaab are a forward looking Muslim business. ORDERING

What are the main steps involved in shopping at the Al-Hijaab website?

The online shopping process is very straightforward and involves the following

  • You browsing the store and adding items to your shopping basket before proceeding to the checkout
  • You registering with Al-Hijaab
  • You choosing your payment method
  • You making the credit/debit card payment via our secure payment processor or sending us payment via one of our accepted methods
  • Us delivering your order
   
How do I place an order?
Your order is placed after you have chosen your goods, logged in, and made a payment. Tailoring orders differ slightly. Read more about our tailoring service.
   
Do I get a receipt for my order?
Yes. You will get a receipt from our payment processors after making a credit/debit card payment. A store receipt will also be sent out with your order.
   
How do I know that a garment is the right size and will fit me?
As well as the garments we produce ourselves we also stock garments from many different suppliers. This makes it impossible for us to provide a standard sizing guide which applies to all garments. Instead we provide clear sizes (not simply S, M, L sizes) with the descriptions of each individual item. This will ensure that you make correct sizing decisions at the time of ordering. PAYMENT

What payment methods do you accept?
Currently we accept credit/debit card payments, PayPal payments and UK cheques. Read more about the payment methods we accept.
   
When and how do I pay for my order?
If you pay by credit/debit card then the payment is collected immediately after a successful transaction takes place. This may take a few days to show up on your bank/card statement depending on your bank/card provider. PayPal payments are processed immediately by PayPal. Al-Hijaab then accept or decline your payment. Our aim is to accept your PayPal payment within 24 hours of you making your payment. If you prefer to pay by cheque then you must send us the cheque by post and we will deposit this into our account in order to collect payment. Is it secure to use my credit/debit card when purchasing online?
Online shopping with Al-Hijaab is secure. We authorise Worldpay to handle our online payments as they have over 10 years of experience in handling secure and encrypted online transactions. For more details read our security policy. Read more about Worldpay.
   
Do I need to pay any additional sales taxes?
When calculating your order total we do not add any additional sales taxes to it as the displayed prices already include the 17.5% UK tax known as VAT. Goods delivered overseas may incur additional customs, taxes and brokerage fees assessed by the country the items are entering into. These additional costs are not covered by the total price of your order, and it is your responsibility to pay these fees to receive your shipment.

DELIVERY

How soon will my order be delivered?
UK orders are shipped out as next working day delivery on the same day as your payment clears as long as the order is placed before 12 noon. Deliveries to Europe normally take between 3 and 4 working days and deliveries to other parts of the world normally take 5 working days. For more details read our shipping policy.
   
Do I have to pay for delivery and if so how much?
Delivery(shipping) costs are automatically added to your order total as you add items to your basket. These costs are charged to cover the cost of delivery as well as packaging. For more details about typical shipping charges read our shipping policy.
   
What couriers do you use?
We use Royal Mail who are the largest and most reputable courier in the UK. International shipping is also provided by Royal Mail and their trusted international affiliates (United Postal Services for the US). For more details read our shipping policy. Read more about Royal Mail.
   
Can I have my order sent to an address other than my card billing address?

Yes. Your order can be posted to an alternative address other than the billing address. When entering your billing address details there is also an option to enter a delivery address.

   
Do you deliver internationally, outside of the UK?

CANCELLATIONS, REFUNDS & EXCHANGES

Can I cancel my order after having paid?
Yes. In accordance with the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 you may cancel your order for any reason within 7 days of receipt of your goods. Provided the goods are returned as set out in the conditions for acceptance of returns/exchanges (see our Returns policy), we will refund your payment, minus any shipping costs, within 30 days. Can I get a refund if I am not completely happy with my order?

TAILORING

How experienced are Al-Hijaab's tailors?
Al-Hijaab's tailors have over 17 years of experience in delivering exquisite tailored garments. Our tailors have an established customer base comprising of both individuals and businesses, largely developed through word of mouth. Read more about our tailors and Al-Hijaab's tailoring service.
   
What are the chances of my tailoring request going wrong?
Al-Hijaab's tailoring request forms have been designed in such a way so that they capture all the necessary information needed to create your garment. Once your request is recieved by Al-Hijaab, our experienced tailors will double check the request against their professional judgement. Lastly our tailors will confirm the tailoring request with you before proceeding with the work. We believe this to be a stringent procedure which leaves very little room for your tailoring request going wrong.
   
Can I provide detailed instructions on how my garment should be created?
Yes. Our tailoring request forms allow you to pick your style and design, provide measurements as well as provide your own more detailed requirements. As you pay a standard price for a standard tailoring service we may need to charge you an additional amount for preferences which are more demanding for our tailors to incorporate into your garment. If this is the case then we will always inform you before proceeding with the tailoring request.
   
How long will it take to create and deliver my tailor made garment?
Inshallah we aim to create and ship your garment(s) out to you within 2 weeks of confirming your tailoring request.
   
When do I have to pay for tailor made garments?
Tailoring garments like all other orders must be paid for at the time of placing your order. We charge you for your tailoring order by incorporating the tailoring cost with the cost of the material at the time of purchase. Read more about the tailoring service.
   
Can I return/exchange tailor made garments?
No. Tailor made garments cannot be exchanged or refunded.
